Lara is a longhaired Weimaraner, and is the daughter of two longhairs herself, Grand Champion Sinaway Quest For Gold and Champion Sinaway Remembrans Rose.

She has always been a very reluctant show dog, but at the age of six, she finally decided it was not so bad! Even though she has never enjoyed it, she has still managed to win multiple Bitch Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breeds at Sydney Royal, Specialty Shows, and Junior In Show under Shirley Anderton, a longhair breeder from the UK.

She is, as far as I know, the only longhaired Weimaraner alive in Australia to have been graded Excellent twice, both at the third Weimaraner National in 2005, and the NSW Weimaraner Club State Specialty in 2008. And she didn't even have any shows in between those two!

Lara has been out of the showring for more time than she has been in it, but her type and quality has always been rewarded by International judges. She is not a big coated, flashy bitch, she is a moderate, well constructed girl, who would have no trouble working a whole day in the field. There is nothing exagerated about her. 

She is now in Obedience, gaining her CCD. Each of her three passes had her placed in the ring, but she is not an easy dog to trial, just like showing. If a trial even remotely looks like a show, she will refuse to work. However, the way she enjoyed the Spring Fair show, that may change.
